Hardfacing cord

MADUR® hardfacing bead is a continuous, flexible electrode consisting of a nickel core wire and a thick coating of a high-nickel alloy matrix enveloping crushed or spherical molten tungsten carbide grains of various sizes.

When deposited by oxyacetylene welding, the matrix (Nickel base powder) and the Nickel core wire fuse like a brazing alloy, enveloping the tungsten carbide grains to form a compact coating bonded to the substrate.

Tungsten carbide grains with a higher density than the powder settle to the bottom of the deposit. This deposit, combining ground molten tungsten carbide (grains) or spherical molten tungsten carbide (spheres) and a high-strength brazing alloy, is used in a wide range of industries where abrasion is a problem.

The main user industries are: the ceramics industry (brick and tile factories), oil drilling, mining drilling, foundries, cement works…

This product is designed to protect new parts and surfaces, and to repair worn ones. The aim is to make them resistant to wear, abrasion and corrosion. Any welder can apply it.

It is strongly recommended to deposit powder beforehand to avoid oxidation of the part
to be recharged.

MADUR® beads are applied with an oxy-acetylene torch.
